Rusty-Spotted Cat, one of the world’s two smallest wild cat species, is only 14 to 19 inches in length and weighs under 4 lbs. At birth, the kittens weigh just 60 to 77 g. These cats live in the dry broadleaf forests of India and Sri Lanka, preferring dense underbrush and rocky terrain. Because of  their size, they sometimes get confused with leopard cubs. Rusty Spotted Cats are active and playful, but little is known about their ecology and behaviour. They are listed as near threatened due to habitat loss.
